Bogarts Cincinnati Friday night.

They put on a smoking 20 song set (instead of their usual 22 song set) at Belly up tavern, a 600 capacity music venue in San Diego (Solana Beach specifically). Billy and Paul were rocking hard as always, shredding it up. Saw them in April 1990 open for Rush in Rochester and they are still great. They were personable, connected w/ the crowd and had amazing respect for each other as musicians, a rarity nowadays after being together so long for 35+ years. Looking forward to their new "10" album in July!

Why do I not have a problem with the tribute? This right the fuck right here. There are kids in that audience getting their heads taken off by the one of the greatest heavy bands of all time. Kids that are having their molecular structure changed live its 1992 again. As long as the music is being treated with respect what they are doing is a very beautiful thing. Pantera (especially Phil) was the band that turned me onto underground metal. The fact that Phil has always wore his love of the underground on his sleeve.That will will hopefully rub off on another generation like it did mine. Some of those kids will be the future of metal. So no, I don't have an objection to these guys for honoring their brothers by playing their fucking hearts out. Not a single one.

I love ZZTOP but i think a little more than synth was added to LEGS. I do think Elwood is doing a decent job though. It's not like Dusty played difficult bass lines to cover, he just rode the root which worked fine for their music. RIP Dusty Hill
